A Christmas Carol and Pride & Prejudice, Winter 2010-2011

Rebecca Gadsby
Director

Rebecca is a graduate of Warwick University. It was here that she co-wrote and directed an innovative piece of reminiscence theatre. As the production was so unique, Rebecca was later asked to give talks at various national conferences, including the international conference for Age Concern.

Since graduating, Rebecca has enjoyed a varied career in theatre and television, working as an actor, company manager, writer and director. It was during this time that she first became connected with Chapterhouse, taking an acting role in A Midsummer Night's Dream in 2001.

Having enjoyed touring that summer, Rebecca returned to Chapterhouse in the following years to perform in Tweflth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It and Hamlet. Her television credits include the BBC's Doctors, Afternoon Plays series and Silent Witness. She has also played Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Rosalind in As You Like It, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and the ghosts of Past, Present and Future in A Christmas Carol, for various other touring companies.

Since 2005, Rebecca has been the Co-Producer of her own company - Distraction Theatre. Here she has co-written, directed and co-produced various productions: The Canterbury Tales, The Marriage of Figaro, The Twelve Days of Christmas, The Three Musketeers and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. This summer the company had great success with The Merry Wives of Henry VIII, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Distraction has begun producing Halloween events entitled "Terror Tours", which Rebecca has just finished directing at various venues around the country. 2010 saw Rebecca become the Artistic Director of the Lincoln Shakespeare Festival; a very exciting new venture in the city.

Jason is from Lincoln and started his professional career working with Chapterhouse in 2005 as a Production Assistant and Technician on Romeo and Juliet. He revised this role in 2006, touring with Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night and Goldilocks on their national theatre and garden tours. Following this, he joined Rhubarb Theatre and most recently PEEL in the role of Technician, working his way up to Production Manager and Lighting Designer. Highlights of this were Thomson Cruises and Warner Leisure Hotels including BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. This has enabled him to do the job he loves and travel the world at the same time. Jason is thrilled to be back at Chapterhouse and touring with their winter tours of A Christmas Carol and Pride and Prejudice. He would like to thank his friends and family for their continued support.
