2012 SPRING TOURS

OPEN AIR THEATRE 2012

2012 WINTER TOURS

"The slapstick exchanges between competitive Romeos, Demetrius and Lysander, were delivered with such gusto that it was hard to decide whether the cast or audience were enjoying it more.” The Leighton Buzzard Citizen, 2009

Hamlet can so easily become a dark pastiche of tragedy and melodrama, but here at the hands of director Karen Crow, it has a vigour that allows for warm sunny notes to contrast sharply with icy blasts of cool tragedy…another triumph for the company.” Lincolnshire Echo, 2003

”Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s production is energetic throughout.” Richmond and Twickenham Times, 2003

“entertained to a standard that left us still buzzing” BBC Learning Centre Gloucester, 2004

“no chance of failure here” Plymouth Evening Herald, 2004

Touring from January to April 2012

Chapterhouse Theatre Company is thrilled to announce that two wonderful new productions shall be touring the UK in Spring 2012. Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen’s tale of true Regency splendour and Cranford, where life in a picturesque Victorian village is perfectly bought to life.

Over its twelve-year history, Chapterhouse has enjoyed national theatre tours, including 2010’s sell-out tours of A Christmas Carol and Pride and Prejudice. Chapterhouse is best known for performing enchanting open-air theatre during the summer months in the gardens of beautiful country houses, castles and heritage sites across the UK and Ireland, but is delighted to be returning to the stage this spring with Sense and Sensibility and Cranford.

‘...worth catching them whatever the show, wherever they go.’

The Northern Echo, 2010

The productions have been adapted for the stage by award-winning young writer Laura Turner, whose recent work includes the BBC’s E20 and Hull Truck Theatre’s PlayWrite Programme.

'Laura Turner’s script was clever and inventive'

Richard Parr, Dereham and Fakenham Times, 2009

Complete with elegant period costume and traditional song and dance, what better way to brighten the spirits than to take a leisurely stroll into Jane Austen’s unforgettable world of snobbery, scandal and high society or to enjoy the irresistible comedy of the exploits of some very Victorian ladies in the picturesque village of Cranford?

Join Chapterhouse Theatre Company and celebrate the coming of Spring 2012 with two of the most heart-warming productions imaginable to help fight off the winter blues and welcome the spring.
